Watch: The 2025 edition of L-istrina has raised just over €3 million so far, with just over four hours to go. Last year this annual 12-hour fundraising marathon raised €5,214,134.

This year, unlike previous years, the celebration of L-istrina in Gozo is being held at the entrance to Bethlehem f’Ghajnsielem, this traditional activity is also being held in aid of the work of the Malta Community Chest Fund.

President Myriam Spiteri Debono visited the Nativity Village in Gozo this afternoon to receive donations from Gozitan individuals and companies. To watch the video please click the link.

L-istrina was opened at noon at the Kirkop Sports Complex by President Myriam Spiteri Debono, accompanied by Prime Minister Robert Abela, Opposition Leader Alex Borg and the Archbishop of Malta, Monsignor Charles J. Scicluna.

L-istrina will be broadcast until midnight on all major stations, and throughout the day there will be entertainment from band players from different musical organisations brought together by the National Band Clubs Association, as well as activities led by television personalities, and interviews with people who have needed the help of the Malta Community Chest Fund.

Donation lines are open, and one can offer €25 by calling 51802012, €50 on 51902030 or via SMS for a donation of €11.65 on 50619201. Other donations, of any amount, can be sent directly via the BOVMobile or MyAPS apps, on 79359565.

The pledge line is open, on 21262626 to make a donation and Malta Community Chest Fund volunteers will collect it throughout the day.
