The Malta Red Cross Gozo Branch provided an exceptional service during this year’s Carnival celebrations. The Malta Red Cross Gozo Branch had as usual been asked to offer its services during the Nadur, Xewkija, Xaghra and Sannat Carnival celebrations.
The highlight of their service was on on the Saturday night of Nadur carnival and special arrangements were made with the police, local wardens and local council to ensure a smooth running service.
The Red Cross made use of mobile teams, a medical car, 3 ambulances and a rescue vehicle. Besides the numerous first aiders,15 paramedics were also in attendance.
A fully equipped clinic was set up at the Nadur police station and during the course of the night and a number of members of the public sought the help and advice of the Red Cross. In total five patients needed transport to the hospital.
Volunteers from the Malta branch of the Red Cross were also in attendance for the event.

Great to see so many young people giving up their time to help others, a credit to the Red Cross Volunteers from Gozo and Malta.
