GO has teamed up with the Foundation for Social Welfare Services (FSWS) and is pledging its full support to the Foundation’s ongoing initiatives towards enhancing living standards for persons at risk of social exclusion. As a result of GO’s support, the Foundation will soon enjoy avante-garde communications services mainly in the form of top-quality fixed telephony and high speed internet – powered by GO. The services were installed at the Foundation’s new operating centre to which GO also donated a number of personal computers.

FSWS incorporates the three main agencies ie Agenzija Sedqa, Agenzija Appogg and Agenzija Sapport the latter including the Day Centres for Persons with a Disability.Together these agencies represent the national agencies in the field of social services in Malta and, with a work force totalling over 7800 employees, they provide a mix of social welfare services operating from various localities and premises around Malta.

The focus of the Foundation’s new project, entitled Embak for Life (E4L) funded in part by the EU, includes the opening of a drop-in centre targeted to assist homeless young people or those about to leave institutions (prison, various homes, hostels etc…) Both the communication services as well as the PCs provided by GO will come in very useful to the FSWS in giving socially excluded persons the type of training that integrate them into a reputable place of work while at the same time give them the support necessary to find adequate shelter or – better still – a good place where to live.

GO sais that their outstanding telephony services and high-speed internet will hugely step up communications in the course of work carried out by the administration team, carers and service users at the newly set-up operations centre. Thanks to high-speed internet and telephony powered by GO, the drop-in centre now boasts hands-on experience of GO’s premium communications services.

Sina Bugeja, FSWS Chief Executive thanked GO for its support. “It is only through the invaluable assistance and support we get from team players like GO that FSWS can continue to sustain and develop the wide spectrum of services it provides to the socially disadvantaged,” she said and urged other companies to follow suit.
