Prime Minister Robert Abela has visited Gozo Graphics, a Gozo-based company that specialises in large-format digital printing, sign manufacturing, and the provision of products and solutions related to architectural applications. The company also offers 3D printing, machining and scanning services.
During the visit, Prime Minister Abela met with the company’s employees and the team that manages Area 51, an industrial facility designed by the same company with the aim of helping Maltese start-ups have the same opportunities as European ones working in the hardware sectors.
This facility includes technological infrastructure designed for precision manufacturing and large-scale prototyping, including monolithic additive printing, as well as CNC machining equipment and industrial laser systems for metalworking, among others.
Through Area 51, the company also provides the necessary infrastructure for the development of intellectual property (IP) in a safe and secure manner.
In addition, the company Gozo Graphics has also launched a private fund aimed at innovative projects, with an allocation of €100,000. Through this fund, the company said it will provide direct assistance to the private sector further strengthening the ecosystem of innovative start-ups, while paving the way for these companies to move beyond prototypes to real production.
The Prime Minister stressed that private projects such as this contribute directly to a more diversified and value-added economy, while creating new opportunities for youth and professionals in Gozo. Here he mentioned the importance of the quality careers that are continuing to be created in our country.
He also noted how initiatives that strengthen industrial capacities “can help our country attract quality investment and remain an attractive destination to retain local talent.”
The Prime Minister added that, through various public entities, including Malta Enterprise, the Government is offering support so that such companies continue to move forward and continue to invest in innovative equipment and in other areas.
