The Food Safety and Security Authority has warned that the above and following baby products must not be consumed since they may contain cereulide toxin

Please click here for full details and batch/date numbers.In accordance with Chapter 649 of the Food Safety and Security Authority Act, and in line with the Authority’s role to ensure transparency and public awareness on matters relating to food safety and security, the Authority hereby informs the public of the information received through the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF).

Cereulide is a toxin produced by some strains of Bacillus cereus. Cereulide is highly heat stable, meaning it is unlikely to be deactivated or destroyed by cooking, using boiling water, or when making the infant milk. If consumed, it can lead to rapid-onset food poisoning symptoms. Symptoms caused by this toxin may include nausea, vomiting, and abdominal cramps.

The Authority advised that, based on information received from the importer, these products must not be consumed as they may contain cereulide toxin.

Consumers are advised not to consume the implicated products and either dispose of them or return them to the store from which they were purchased.
