During a Mass Meeting in Sliema on Sunday, Nationalist Party Leader Alex Borg said that next Saturday, ”in five seconds, we will determine the next five years.”

He said, ”you will decide the future of our country. Those five seconds can change Malta and Gozo. Be the authors of our country’s destiny. Do not let anyone else decide for you. Go out and vote. I will not get there alone, but with you by my side, we will surely get there. The hope of the people is great.”

Alex Borg addressed those who usually vote for the Labour Party and who today feel disappointed by the party they have always supported, telling them to take courage and choose change. He also addressed those who have drifted away from the PN and who, over the years, voted for others. Alex Borg said that this too is democracy. He apologised to those who may have felt hurt by Nationalist Governments and told them that, just as they voted for change in the past, this is the moment for them once again to vote for change.

Alex Borg said that four weeks ago, an election was called one year early. ”Others thought they would catch the Nationalist Party off guard, but instead found a party that was ready, prepared, united, and with a clear vision and direction to give A Fresh Start to Malta and Gozo. Proposal after proposal, the PN presented a clear plan to solve once and for all the problems created by others.”

The PN Leader said that the proposals put forward by the PN, shaped around what people want, will guarantee a better life with cheaper electricity bills, lower taxes, the removal of succession tax, new hospitals and new economic niches that will strengthen our country.

”A Nationalist Government will invest in young people and students, and in healthcare workers. It will invest fully in Gozo, as Nationalist Governments have always done,” he said.

Borg added, “because the Gozitans know where they stand with the Partit Nazzjonalista. More investment in ports, in new vessels, in new roads. Gozitans will be a priority for the PN. Who better than someone from Gozo, like them, can understand the needs of Gozitans?”

The Nationalist Party is coming before the people with a studied and detailed Mass Rapid Transport project, and in the first 100 days a Nationalist Government will start working on it so that, within the first five years, it completes its first and largest line. ”Meanwhile, others are telling us that they still need another five years of studies – meaning that if they are trusted again, they will leave the people stuck in traffic for another five years.”

The PN Leader said that the choice is clear – ”either we keep waiting for another five years, or we give A Fresh Start a chance with a serious project.”

He also spoke about the PN’s plan for population, as well as for the protection of our identity, about a plan that cares for the elderly and a plan that cares for cancer patients. Alex Borg said that the PN’s proposals showed what people-centred politics truly means, and that a Nationalist Government will always remain close to people.

Alex Borg stated, “next Saturday, the choice will belong to the people. In those five seconds of voting, all the power will be in your hands. We politicians will have no power. It will be you who choose the direction you want to give our country. Do not remain silent. Be the authors of our country’s destiny. Be the ones to give A Fresh Start to our Malta and Gozo.”
