Labour wins 26th General Election in fourth successive win

<p> The Labour Party has won this 26th General Election making it a fourth successive win with a predicted majority of around 18,000 votes. No official announcement has been made as yet. In 2022 the PL's winning majority was 39,000. </p> <p> Vote counting continues while Viva l-Labour is being chanted around the Naxxar Counting Hall, with Labour Party agents celebrating around the hall. </p> <p> Celebrations for the Labour victory started almost immediately, with carcades going around the island of Gozo. PN General Secretary Charles Bonello conceded defeat. In 2022 the PL’s winning majority was 39,000.

Prime Minister Robert Abela, speaking briefly by phone on TVM, confirmed the ”historic fourth win.”

PN Leader Alex Borg, in a message posted on Facebook, said that he had called Robert Abela to concede defeat and wished him well. ”We respect the voice of the people with respect and love for Malta. You should never regret having believed in hope again.”
