The Gozo Tourism Association has welcomed the introduction of the new public transport electric buses in Gozo. ”This important investment marks a significant step forward in enhancing sustainable mobility across the island.”
The Association noted that the rollout of the electric fleet has been accompanied by improvements on several routes around Gozo, ”further strengthening an already reliable and consistent public transport system for residents, workers, and visitors alike.”
The Gozo Tourism Association said that this transition to electric buses ”aligns perfectly with Gozo’s long-term vision of becoming an eco-island.”
It added that cleaner transport options ”not only reduce emissions and noise pollution but also contribute to a more enjoyable and environmentally responsible visitor experience. Such initiatives reinforce Gozo’s commitment to safeguarding its natural landscape, improving air quality, and promoting greener forms of travel.”
The Association said it believes that continued investment in sustainable transport infrastructure is essential for supporting Gozo’s tourism sector, particularly as travellers increasingly seek destinations that prioritise environmental stewardship.
”The introduction of electric buses is a positive milestone, and the Gozo Tourism Association looks forward to further collaboration with stakeholders to ensure that Gozo remains a leading example of sustainable island tourism,” it said.
