Civil Protection Department personnel on Gozo were called to assist a diver who found himself in difficulty and was unable to return safely to land due to rough sea conditions near Ghar ir-Rih, Zebbug, on Wednesday afternoon.

The CPD said that diver was safely rescued and taken by a medical team to the Gozo General Hospital for further treatment.

The Civil Protection Malta expressed its thanks to the Malta Police Force and the Emergency Department of Gozo General Hospital for their assistance.
