Data released by the National Statistics Office today, show that outbound tourist trips from April to June of this year reached 214,123 (+2.5%) while total nights spent reached 1,486,597 nights (-0.5%).
The NSO noted that Italy remained the most popular destination with a share of 37.7% of tourist trips.
The majority of guest nights (54.2%) were spent in non-rented accommodation establishments.
In the first half of this year outbound tourist trips reached 419,940 (+7.6%) while total nights spent surpassed 3.1 million nights (+10.6%).
Total estimated tourism expenditure from January to June was €388.5 million (+2.9%), equivalent to an average of €925 per capita (-4.3%), the NSO said.
