The Malta Police have said that two third-country nationals have been deported to their countries of origin in North Africa.
One of the individuals that was repatriated had already served a prison sentence after he was convicted in connection with the attempted murder of a man at the Hal Far Open Centre in 2016.
The other individual was found guilty of using a falsified passport and was also repatriated to his country of origin.
The Police said that an entry ban was issued prohibiting these individuals from re-entering the Schengen zone. The total of persons deported from Malta this year has now risen to 19 persons.
”Malta welcomes those who respect its laws, but will not tolerate illegality, criminality, or abuse of the system,” the Authorities said.
