6.0% increase in building permits for new dwellings in GozoAccording to the latest figures from the National Statistics Office, there was a 5.1% drop in building permits for new dwellings in Gozo during the second quarter of this year with 394 dwellings compared to the same period last year, when the number was 415.

Xaghra had the highest number of approved new dwellings on Gozo at 81.

Following Xaghra, other Gozo localities were Victoria 75, Zebbug, which includes Marsalforn with 38 approved, Munxar, which includes Xlendi with 37 approved, Qala 32, Ghajnsielem 30, Nadur 21, Fontana 19, Xewkija 18, Kercem 17, San Lawrenz 11, Gharb 9, Sannat 4 and Ghasri 2.

On a national basis, the NSO noted that apartments made up 72.1% of the total number of approved new dwellings.
