Due to ”unprecedented demand,” Il-Hagar Museum said that the current temporary exhibition Reluctant Modernism: The Art of Guzeppi Briffa, is being extended until Sunday, the 13th of September.
An exhibition closing event will take place on Saturday, the 12th of September at 11am. This will consist of a public talk by exhibition curator Dr Christian Attard with interventions by Nadette Xuereb and artist and art educator Tony Sciberras, who will discuss Briffa’s oeuvre with particular reference to 30 of his works.
The very last few copies of the accompanying catalogue, number 39 in Il-Hagar Gems series, remain available at the front desk.
The Museum said that acknowledgement must again be made to all private collectors and ecclesiastical and public institutions who loaned the various exhibits for this landmark retrospective and who agreed to extend their loans.
Saturday’s talk will be a free event but seat reservations are recommended by sending an email to events@heartofgozo.org.mt.
Il-Hagar Museum is located in St George’s Square, Victoria and is open daily from 9am to 5pm, and admission is free.
