Gozo Voice for Inclusion has announced its ”new journey, a place for young people aged 16 and over who want to learn a trade, develop practical skills, discover their abilities and prepare for the world of work – A Skills School.
The association has taken on a house which it is now working hard to refurbish and transform into a home of learning, opportunity, inclusion and hope.
It said that this will be a place where young people can come through the door and hear – “You can do this. We believe in you.”
Gozo Voice for Inclusion said that its vision is to create opportunities for those who may not always fit into the traditional educational pathway – young people who have talents, dreams and potential waiting to be discovered. ”We are working towards opening our doors in early 2027.”
The association explained that ”this project means so much more to us than just a new school. Skills School will be dedicated to the memory of our two beautiful lost angels, Noah Mizzi and James Micallef.”
”Their lives may have been far too short, but their memory will continue to touch lives,” the association said. ”We want their names to live on in a place filled with young people, laughter, learning, friendship, opportunities and dreams.”
The association stressed that ”every skill learned. Every new friendship made. Every young person who discovers their confidence. Every dream that becomes possible. Will be a little part of their legacy. Noah and James, you will never be forgotten.”
From the sadness of losing two precious young lives, we hope to create something filled with hope for many more young lives.
”We are not just refurbishing a house. We are building a place where futures can begin. We cannot wait to open the doors in 2027 and welcome our first students,” the organisation said.
Gozo Voice for Inclusion stated that ”this is Skills School. Learn a skill. Discover your potential. Build your future. For Noah. For James. For every young person who deserves a chance. Nothing About Us Without Us.”
