National Statistics Office latest data shows that the annual rate of inflation in September as measured by the Retail Price Index went up to 2.9% from 2.6% in August.
The data revealed that the largest contribution to the overall annual inflation was measured in the food index (+0.72 percentage points), largely due once again, to the higher prices of take-aways.
The highest annual inflation rates in September were registered in housing (7.3%) while the lowest annual inflation rates were registered in water, electricity, gas and fuels (0.0%).
No downward contributions to the overall annual inflation were registered in the month of September, the NSO said.
The 12-month moving average rate for July stood at 2.6%.
