The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) have announced that their will be a phased reopening of UK airspace from 10pm local time tonight.

Therefore all UK airports will be recommencing flight operations at that time.

The CAA said that planes are able to tolerate the current levels of volcanic ash and that their main concern was the safety of passengers, with decisions being made from the gathering of data and subsequent analysis. 

Airlines will have to carry out their own test flights to evaluate prevailing conditions.
