European Communications Directors meeting starts in Gozo

This week, the Department of Information are organising the Plenary Meeting of the Club of Venice in Marsalforn, Gozo. The Club of Venice is an informal group comprising the most senior communication professionals from the governments of EU Member and Candidate States, the European Parliament, the Council of the EU, the European Commission, the European Central Bank, the European Economic and Social Committee and the Committee of the Regions.

Today Wednesday, in the afternoon, the plenary meeting will be preceded by a workshop on Public Diplomacy within a communications context. The Plenary Meeting will be held on Thursday and Friday, 3-4 June 2010, and Chris Said, Parliamentary Secretary for Consumers, Fair Competition, Local Councils and Public Dialogue will deliver the opening address.

The meeting will be attended by over 40 delegates, and is being held with the co-operation and participation of the European Commission Representation in Malta, the European Parliament Office in Malta, and with the support and assistance of the Malta Tourism Authority, the Ministry of Finance, the Economy and Investment, and Gozo Channel Company Limited.
