Melita Mobile continues their mobile coverage programmeMelita Mobile has said that it has successfully completed the second phase of an investment programme to improve mobile coverage across the Maltese Islands. The investment, which is part of the Euro 5.1 million network coverage investment that was announced earlier this year, forms part of a wider strategy that was launched by Melita Mobile in order to identify and address any potential coverage problems.

The company said that the second phase of this investment programme has resulted in an improvement in mobile coverage across a number of localities in Malta and Gozo. Melita Mobile subscribers will now enjoy improved indoor and outdoor coverage in specific areas within the following localities: Valletta, Xghajra, Wied iz-Zurrieq, Zebbug, Gharb, Dingli, Siggiewi, Buskett, Fawwara, Qbajjar, Kuncizzjoni, Siggiewi, Mgarr ix-Xini, Popeye’s Village, Qala, Wardija, Marsa, Iklin and Mgarr.

The initial part of the investment programme was successfully completed only two months ago, with the first twelve localities benefiting higher quality and more consistent coverage since May. These localities included Zebbug, Ghaxaq, Naxxar, Hamrun, Xghajra, Marsa, Buskett, Siggiewi, Dingli and Qala, Xaghra and Qbajjar in Gozo, Melita said.

"Based on customer feedback, Melita Mobile continually optimises its network performance and continues to invest in additional equipment to enhance and extend the transmission of radio signals within several localities. These enhancements have already resulted in a significant drop in calls received by Melita’s customer care related to coverage and call quality," said Simon Montanaro, Chief Technology Officer

"Our priority is to ensure that we listen to what our subscribers are saying and that we fulfil and exceed their expectations. Our mobile subscribers are already experiencing the results of our investments in the shape of better coverage and we will be continuing with this drive to offer customers a more enhanced overall experience," concluded Ludolf Rasterhoff, Chief Operations Officer.

Melita Mobile said that it welcomes customer feedback at any of its outlets around Malta and Gozo or by visiting http://www.melita.com/contact.aspx.
