Parliamentary Secretary, Chris Said has inaugurated a new playground at Munxar, which is the first one to conform to new standards set by the Malta Standards Authourity.

The Guze’ Aquilina Garden project, in Munxar, will generate alternative energy as well as providing free WiFi. Munxar Local Council had applied for funds from schemes that had been offered by the government, totalling €219,000.

The Parliamentary Secretary went on to say that at least 21 contracts had been signed in April, for future projects in 17 localities valued at some €900,000, as well as the government assisiting councils with 15 special projects with funds from a dedicated scheme, at a cost of €237,000.

In the last twelve months the government will have invested €615,000 in local schemes for the production of alternative energy, Dr Said concluded.
