Police have said that Raymond Farrugia, aged 38, passed away at 3.30am this morning at Mater Dei Hospital. He was one of two men who had been critically injured in the Gharb fireworks factory explosion on Sunday evening.

Raymond was the son of the factory owner, Nenu Farrugia and the brother of Noel who had both also died in the blast.

Antoinette Farrugia, the pregnant wife of Noel Farrugia and Jean-Pierre Azzopardi, also died in the explosion.

Peter Paul Micallef remains in a critical condition at Mater Dei Hospital.
