Nature Trust welcomes San Frangisk Animal Centre openingThe environmental NGO Nature Trust (Malta) has said that it welcomes the opening of the San Frangisk Animal Centre ta Qali which will provide clinic and first aid support for injured animals mainly domestic ones.

NTM said that it also welcome the statement made by the Minister for Resources and Rural Affairs that the legislation for pets registration will be enforce so as these are not abandoned by their owners. Strays in our Islands are a result of irresponsible owners who abandon their animals. These are not only being cruel to animals but are also causing a problem to our local wild biodiversity and to society.

Nature Trust (Malta) is presently collecting funds to open the Island’s first Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre. This project will cost the NGO in the region of Euro 2.2 Million. AirMalta is already supporting the Turtle rehabilitation part of the project by aiding in the collection of funds.

It is hoped that once this centre is opened it will work together with the San Frangisk centre so together both centres can provide all animal care possible, the NGO said.

Anybody wishing to make donations towards the Wildlife rehabilitation Centre can send them to NTM HSBC Account Turtle Project – 039069000009

This is excellent news for the poor abused animals in Malta. Well done!

However, I wonder when the Emperor of Malta and the Empress of Gozo are going do do something about premises for the poor abused animals in Gozo?

They and their acolytes should be ashamed of themselves.

Yes it is good news but what about the SPCA in Gozo – When are they going to get a decent place?
