Government announces a strong demand for stocks issue

The Treasury has announced that there has been a strong demand both by members of the public and institutional investors for the two Issues of Malta Government Stocks -November 2010 including two Fixed Rate MGSs and one Floating Rate MGS.
By 5.00pm Wednesday, 10th November, 2010, Treasury received 4,953 applications/bids having a total value of Euro 216,153,406 against the authorised sum on issue of Euro 100 million. The applications/bids have been received as follows:
4,935 applications from the members of the public having a nominal value of Euro 152,653,406, and
18 bids from the institutional investors having a nominal value of Euro 63,500,000.

Since the issuance was over-subscribed by the members of the public there was no balance available to be allocated under the auction/bid system. In this regard, the aggregate amount on issue of Euro 100 million will be allotted to the members of the public under the terms of the Allotment Policy stipulated under Paragraph 3 of the Prospectus dated 26th October 2010.
Treasury will announce the allotment of the Euro 100 million on issue to members of the public on Monday 15th November 2010.
