Petrol station owners may reduce opening hours to publicUpdate: Petrol station owners have called of their proposed strike action after two meetings with Enemalta and the Ministry of Finance. Further talks are set to continue between the owners and Enemalta.

The petrol station owners had said that unless an agreement was reached in a meeting held this morning on commissions on petrol distribution to station owners, then petrol stations would have closed at 6pm this evening. The GRTU Petrol Station Owners President Carlo Cini said that they had been hoping for positive news.

Petrol station owners, who have been in discussions with Enemalta for some months, want an extra 3c2 per litre of fuel sold. This includes a 1c1 increase in their profit and 2c1 as their costs are increasing as well as the extra investment required to upgrade their stations
