Update: The GRTU has said that, as from tomorrow the gas distributors will be launching industrial action, which will mean that there will be no door to door distribution of gas cylinders and no sales from fixed points.
GRTU Director General, Vince Farrugia, said the industrial action has been launched as a result of a dispute between the two LPG suppliers, Liquigas and Easygas.
Mr Farrugia went on to say that industrial action would be called off should the Government and gas suppliers reach an agreement by tonight.
The government said in a statement earlier this evening that it had asked the Malta Resources Authority to mediate so that the situation can be resolved as soon as possible.
