MaltaPost has said that there is an amount of Malta-bound mail from various countries that has been pre-advised to Malta but have been withheld in London and Frankfurt airports. This is mainly due to the disruption in services caused by the severe weather conditions in the UK and central Europe.

MaltaPost is anticipating that the situation gets back to normal during next week, depending on the ability of the various foreign post offices to collect, transport and process mail. There may also be mail that duly left Malta but which is still to be received by the recipients for the same reason.
