University Gozo Campus facilities expansion is inaugurated

Increased space for learning at the University Gozo Campus in Gozo has been provided to accommodate the ever increasing number of adult students who are choosing to pursue one of the many courses offered. Two new halls have been added to extend the existing campus facilities.

During the inauguration of these new facilities, the Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono said that the work carried out on the campus not only promotes and provides specifically for lifelong education, but also offers important opportunities to improve human resource skills in Gozo.

Professor Lino Briguglio is the Director of the Campus of the University Gozo and was instrumental in the creation and management of the campus since its inception in 1992. He said the that the new lounges will meet current logistical needs as well as providing teaching rooms during exams and other activities.

During the current academic year over 100 participants are attending a number of courses, including those leading to a Diploma or Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor in Criminology, MBA, Masters in Translation Studies and Hospitaller.

Last year about 40 students graduated after successfully completing such courses on the campus, this meant that the number of graduates who attended courses in Gozo rose to nearly 600, with three of them continuing their studies for a PhD from foreign universities.
