The Teatru tal-Opra Aurora (Leone Philharmonic Society), in Victoria, has recently acquired the rights to show the international documentary film ‘John Paul II, I kept looking for you…’ This Polish production takes a comprehensive look at the personality and Papal ministry of this 20th century revolutionary Pope; a great figure whose impact was seen and felt not only as far as worldwide Catholicism is concerned, but also in the global political and socio-economic development, particularly in post-Cold War Europe.

‘John Paul II, I kept looking for you…’ is the biggest cinema production about this Pope, with scenes shot in 13 different countries which he visited as Vicar of Christ, including Malta. The film also contains testimonials of world renowned personalities – actors, politicians, sportsmen, and world leaders, such as former President of Malta, the late Guido de Marco, who, in the country’s highest seat in 2001, greeted John Paul II in Malta.

‘John Paul II, I kept looking for you…’ has already been world premiered in Brussels under the patronage and in the presence of Mr Jerzy Buzek, President of the European Parliament, earlier on in April.

The Teatru tal-Opra Aurora, is thus presenting the gala premiere night under the distinguished patronage of H.E. Dr George Abela, the President of Malta.

Tickets for the gala premiere night are being kept at a minimal price of €6.00. They can be bought from the Aurora Box Office, by telephone on 21559452 or by email on info@leone.org.mt.

The Gala Premiere night will be at the Teatru tal-Opra Aurora, next Friday, the 17th of June 2011, at 8.00pm.

The film will have another daily run at the Empire Cinema in Bugibba, on 18th, 19th and 20th of June at 6.00pm.
