Children currently undergoing treatment at Rainbow Ward in Mater Dei Hospital will enjoy some much needed fun and distraction thanks to a donation of gifts by the GasanMamo Kayak for Cancer Challenge team.
The team has given Rainbow Ward a large number of games for Playstation 3 and Wii – the interactive games so popular among kids. The GasanMamo Kayak for Cancer Challenge is an open sea long distance sea kayak endurance marathon where 6 paddlers will cross the Malta Channel unassisted in aid of Puttinu Cares.
A tentative date of departure is June the 23rd. Organisers and veteran paddlers Dorian J. Vassallo and Albert Gambina will be accompanied by experienced athletes Mark Bugeja and Michael Gellel. The two Maltese teams will be joined by a third team – Italian duo Francesco Landolina and Fabrizio Messina from the Circolo Canoa Catania.
Donations to the GasanMamo Kayak for Cancer Challenge 2011 can be made by sending an SMS to 5061 7366 (€2.33); 5061 8075 (€4.66) or 5061 9208 (€11.65). Cheques payable to Puttinu Cares are to be mailed to GasanMamo Insurance Ltd, Head Office, Msida Road, Gzira. Personal donations can also be made in any one of GasanMamo’s branches around Malta.
