The programme of Religious Festivities have been announced in honour of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, which is celebrated in the church dedicated to her honour at Ta’ Hamet, in Xewkija, between Tuesday, the 12th and Saturday, the 16th of July, 2011.

Tuesday 12th July 2011: First Day of Solemn Triduum.

6.30pm: Recitation of the Holy Rosary.

7.00pm: Celebration of Holy Mass with the homily of the First Day of Triduum celebrated by the newly-ordained priest, Fr. Trevor Sultana (Xewkija). Afterwards, there will be the recitation of the Kurunella and impartation of Eucharistic Benediction.

Wednesday 13th July: Second Day of Solemn Triduum. Commemoration of the third apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Fatima.

From 5.30pm onwards: Eucharistic Adoration in silence.

7.00pm: Recitation of the Holy Rosary.

7.30pm: Celebration of Holy Mass with the homily of the Second Day of Triduum celebrated by the newly-ordained priest, Fr. Krystof Buttigieg (Qala). Afterwards, there will be a procession with the diocesan statue of Our Lady of Fatima along the streets around the church. The celebration ends with the recitation of the Kurunella and impartation of Eucharistic Benediction.

Thursday 14th July: Third Day of Solemn Triduum.

6.30pm: Recitation of the Holy Rosary.

7.00pm: Celebration of Holy Mass with the homily of the Third Day of Triduum celebrated by the newly-ordained priest, Fr. Franklin Vella (Xewkija). Afterwards, there will be the recitation of the Kurunella and impartation of Eucharistic Benediction.

Friday 15th July: Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

6.00am: Celebration of Holy Mass by Rector Mgr Carmelo Hili .

From 5.30pm onwards: Eucharistic Adoration in silence.

7.00pm: Recitation of the Holy Rosary.

7.30pm: Celebration of Holy Mass by H.L. Bishop Mario Grech and animated by the Voci Angeliche Choir. Afterwards, there will be a procession with the titular statue of Our Lady of Mount Carmel along the streets around the church. The celebration ends with the recitation of the Kurunella and impartation of Eucharistic Benediction.

Saturday 16th July: Liturgical Solemnity of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

6.00am: Celebration of Holy Mass by Rector Mgr Carmelo Hili.

8.30pm: Celebration of Holy Mass by Mgr Rosario Borg which starts a night of Eucharistic Adoration in church animated by the Gozo Eucharistic Movement. The Adoration ends at midnight with another mass.

The singing during the days of Triduum and the feast day will be led by organist Ivan Attard.

The Rector Mgr Carmelo Hili warmly invites everyone to attend for these celebrations in honour of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
