Arriva Malta expect to operate full service by September 11thIn a statement issued by Arriva Malta, Keith Bastow, the Managing Director, explained that “actions have been taken to increase the number of drivers such we will have sufficient Maltese drivers to operate the full service from 11 September.”

“Training capacity has been increased, including the use of an extra 9 instructors from the UK. This will enable a total of 240 new Maltese drivers to be trained by the end of September.”

“A total of 100 UK drivers will be present in Malta by the end of this week. This will enable further strengthening of the services currently being operated while new drivers are being trained,” the M.D. concluded.

The statement also clarified a number of issues on the number of drivers employed.

325 – maximum number of ex-ATP drivers Arriva were obliged to employ

220 – number of ex-ATP drivers who had committed to transfer to Arriva Malta 14 days before contract start

110 – number of ex-ATP drivers who appeared during the first week of the new operation

I live at St. Luke’s Road Guardamangia Pieta and do not have any service to Valletta terminus. The amendments do not address the route problem. With the old routes I had no problem to go to Valletta. Now the van of route 122 is always empty.Route 125 should start from Valletta take the same roure through Guardamangia to Mater Dei.

      Proud and noble Malta GC:.
Why on earth did you choose a German company using untried Chinese Buses?.
I live in a small town in the West Midlands and Arriva after 10 years of sole monopoly cannot run to time anywhere and have just cut out ALL evening and Sunday buses

      Good luck with these clowns
