The National Sanctuary of Our Lady “Ta’ Pinu” will celebrate the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary with a programme of celebrations scheduled to be held on Sunday, the 14th and Monday, the 15th of August 2011 as follows:

Sunday, the 14th of August: Eve of the Solemnity.

In the morning, masses will be said with the normal Sunday schedule, i.e. 6.15am, 8.30am, 10am and 11.15am.

5.00pm: Vigil Mass with homily.

8.00pm: VIGIL CELEBRATION including the procession with replica painting of Our Lady Ta’ Pinu, singing of psalms and Solemn Concelebrated Mass presided by H.L Bishop Mario Grech. The choir animating this celebration will be directed and accompanied on the organ by organist Ivan Attard A.MusTCL.

This celebration will be broadcasted live on Radio Maria for the benefit of the sick and the elderly.

From 10.30pm till midnight: Eucharistic Adoration in silence at the Chapel of the Blessed Virgin Mary ‘Ta’ Pinu’.

Monday, the 15th of August: Solemnity of the Assumption of Our Lady. This is a feast of obligation in which all Christians are obliged to attend for Holy Mass and rest from work.

Masses at the Sanctuary will be celebrated according to the Sunday schedule, ie. 6.15am, 8.30am, 10am, 11.15am and 5.00pm.

6.00pm: Recitation of the Holy Rosary and Eucharistic Benediction.
