Last Friday the Xaghra Local Council organised the second edition of ‘Il-Pjazza tax-Xaghra Alive.’ This is a new initiative taken by the Council to promote the lively atmosphere of Xaghra square.

The evenings entertainment got underway following the Solemn Concelebrated Mass at the Collegiate Basilica of the Nativity of Our Lady. This celebration commemorated the Anniversary of Saint Mary Major Basilica’s Dedication.

The Xaghra Parish Church is spiritually affiliated to this Basilica in Rome. Friday’s varied programme consisted of singing by local singers Mikaela Bajada and Miriana Farrugia, dance by the group ‘Victory Dance’ (choreography Jennifer Attard) as well as the YADA Dance Group and a one-hour musical concert by Mistaken Identity Band.

On Friday, the 19th of August 2011, the Xaghra Council will be organising anouther similar event, this time with the participation of local singers and dancers together with the Inside Plan Band who will present a one-hour musical concert.

The evening will get underway at 8.30pm and everyone is warmly invited to attend.
