The Gozo Universit Group (GUG) recently held a meeting with H.L. Mons. Mario Grech, Bishop of Gozo, the main aim being to improve the relationship between the Gozo Diocese and the Gozo Group both from a cultural and University religious aspect. As the executive members explained their goals and plan for the following academic year, the Bishop encouraged GUG to continue working towards its aims and emphasised the need for GUG to continue to be present for the Gozitans who live and study in Malta, as this issue has forever been a sensitive matter.
As GUG mentioned the need to give students and youths a more prominent role in society, Bishop Mario Grech promised to help where possible and showed the desire to attend meetings that can prove to be fruitful and beneficial to Gozitan people as a whole. He continued to explain that students and youths are the main pillars of society and it is vital that everyone, as Gozitans, are proud of their identity and know where they come from. Both entities discussed about the communication between all the youths in Gozo, and agreed that it’s currently lacking.
As one last point the Bishop gave the group his message and blessing and advised them to continue working towards their goal, that of being available for students all the time, whatever their need and serve the voice of the young generation.
