It has come to the attention of the Superintendence of Public Health that the product Dr Numb (no pain in mind) is being advertised and supplied over a number of internet sites.

The Superintendent for Public Health would like to bring to the attention of the public that this product contains 5% lidocaine, which is a medicine which, when applied repeatedly could cause a number of side effects, some of which can be serious. Such side effects include feelings of light- headedness, sedation, restlessness, sensations of hot and cold, dizziness, blurred vision, nausea and vomiting, muscle twitching, tremors, convulsions and irregularities in the heart beat.

The public is advised not to make use of such a product unless under strict medical supervision.

The Superintendent for Public Health once again reminds the public of the dangers associated with purchasing medicines over the internet and once again advises against such a practice.
