The Committee within the Gozo Business Chamber responsible for the promotion of a permanent link between Gozo and Malta has said today that it “would like to express its satisfaction and appreciation that the concept of a tunnel or some kind of other permanent link between the islands was prominently mentioned in the budget for 2012.”

“The fact that the Government recognises the benefits such a permanent connection would have on the creation of jobs for the Gozitans and that this issue has also found itself in a very prominent document such as the budget speech, reinforces our belief and commitment for such a venture to move forward,” the Committee said.

“The Committee and The Chamber concluded by saying that it “looks forward to the next step where Cabinet will discuss the prefeasibility study, prepared by Jespers, so that in the near future this project can be started.”
