Gozitans recently marked the first anniversary of the death of Mgr Nicholas Cauchi, Bishop Emeritus for Gozo, with a concelebrated Mass, led by Gozo Bishop, Mgr. Mario Grech, at the Cathedral Church in Victoria.

Sannat Archpriest and priest’s delegate for the Gozo Diocese, Fr Tarcisio Camilleri spoke about the life of Mgr Cauchi as a priest, pointing out his good qualities.

After Mass, Bishop Grech together with the other priests prayed on the grave of Bishop Mgr Cauchi and blessed his remains in the presence of the bishop’s sister Gemma and brother Can Achille and other relatives. Flowers were also placed on his grave by various societies, including those by the Leone Filarmonic Society and the Cathedral Chapter.

The bronze bust of Bishop Cauchi, was placed near the main altar for public viewing.
