The Gozo Cultural calendar for 2012 was launched at the Villa Rundle Gardens by the Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono. ‘Gozo 365 – Rendezvous With Your Culture,’ is a booklet which can be carried easily and which incorporates data and information on cultural activities that will take place in Gozo during the whole year. These activities include musical performances, theatrical and literary, along with traditional events such as the carnival, local feasts and national holidays. Also included is information on locations and popular historical sites including those that are less well known.

The Minister explained how the main objective of this publication is to serve as a valid tool by which to publicise activities and events that are added attractions for those visiting the island during the coming year. She added that during the last years the cultural sector in Gozo continued to be reinforced through various activities chosen from a number of entities with the participation of local talent, which are now established as popular annual events with both local and overseas visitors.

The Minister continued by praising the the work that is carried out by the Gozo Culture Office within the Ministry for Gozo, which in addition to coordinating the work in organising several activities throughout the year, also support numerous other entities and organisations in cultural activities all around the island.

The Minister said, “that besides the annual publication, it is hoped that another version will be printed every three months to cover the activities of the respective months and will be distributed to all households in Gozo and Malta.” This publication will also be organised through the Gozo Culture Office within the Ministry for Gozo and will include information on activities organised by different entities across the island.
