Heritage Malta are inviting you to discover the link between Charles Dickens and the heroism of a Maltese seaman.
The event, which takes place on Tuesday, the 28th of February, will start with a tour as an introduction for participants to Victorian Malta.
There will be a warm drink of Bovril or Negus before a lecture by Prof. Raymond Agius, entitled ‘The Loss of the Royal Charter: A Link between Dickens and a Maltese Seaman.’
Following this, the earliest movie adaptation of a Dickens novel, Great Expectations (1912) will be screened. Concluding with snacks of the Victorian era.
The event is sponsored by The British Council on the occasion of the 200th anniversary from the birth of Charles Dickens.
The event starts at 7pm at the Malta Maritime Museum. Tickets are €3 and places are limited. Booking is available from all Heritage Malta Sites and Museums.
