“Work on the Three Hills Gardens in Marsalforn is now almost completed.” This was stated by the Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono during a visit to the garden to view the works carried out so far. These include the installation of children’s play structures, as well as new garden furniture such as benches. Altogether this garden will have six recreational and play areas for children and youth of different ages.

The construction work necessary to complete the project, included the construction of rubble walls, installations of lighting systems, irrigation and drainage, paths and a reservoir built to collect rain water for use in the gardens and the placement of tiles. Unfortunately, the heavy rain over the past weeks made the planting of the trees impossible, however, it is hoped that it will start over the coming days. Most of the seven hundred and fifty trees that are to be planted are indigenous trees. These are being sponsored by Magro Brothers, ten trees for every year that the Three Hills Brand has been on the Maltese market.

The Minister said that the Villa Rundle Gardens project in Victoria is also due to be inaugurated soon.

Also present for the visit were the Zebbug Mayor, Mr Charles Saliba and Ministry for Gozo officials.

Work on the Three Hills Garden are being coordinated by the Ministry for Gozo.
