Bank of Valletta is supporting the 31st Annual Scale Model Exhibition by The Society for Scale Modellers (SSM) IPMS Malta.

Models of aircraft, ships, military vehicles, figurines and dioramas will be on display at the Malta Maritime Museum at the Vittoriosa Waterfront. Following last year’s successful outcome, this year’s exhibition is also being enriched with foreign participants, thereby making it a truly international event on lines of other major foreign scale model exhibitions.

Stephanie Agius from Marketing at Bank of Valletta visited the exhibition venue just a few hours before the official opening where she was shown around the items featuring at the exhibition by Aldo Chetcuti, President of the Society for Scale Modellers.

“Each and every model involves considerable amount of time to produce from start to finish. This year we decided to make this exhibition more interesting by including a live session of model makers working on the details that these models involve. One can further appreciate the intricate work of the process of model making,” said Mr Chetcuti.

Ms Agius said, “The society promotes model making as an art form encompassing research, construction and painting. One can appreciate the elaborate works of these models all of which are part of both our history and culture. The participation and continued support of such initiatives remains part of BOV’s culture. We encourage the participation and the appreciation of such societies whose work is priceless.”

The exhibition is being held at the Malta Maritime Museum at the Vittoriosa Waterfront and is open to the public between the 9th and the 11th March 2012. Entrance is free of charge.
