Melita is changing some of its internal process to safeguard the environment by reducing the use of paper. Melita is encouraging its clients to subscribe to the company’s free online self-care portal “MyMelita.” Through this online portal, customers can choose to ‘switch off’ printed bills mailed to their addresses.
As from the 1st of March 2012, anyone subscribing to MyMelita will automatically join this initiative to reduce paper.
Subscribing to MyMelita is free and takes less than five minutes. To subscribe, clients need an internet connection and a copy of a Melita bill. Once subscribed to the portal, customers get immediate access and a more detailed view of their past and present invoices. Through the portal, they can also manage selected services, send free SMS, as well as monitor usage for their telephony products or internet downloads level.
“Every year Melita sends hundreds of thousands of invoices which all need to be printed and inserted in an envelope therefore using a huge amount of paper. A series of internal initiatives are also in place to reduce use of office paper, reusing paper as well as recycling paper waste. We are confident that many customers will take advantage of the benefits of electronic billing, while also contributing to this reduction in paper use,” commented Malcolm Briffa, Head of PR and Strategic Projects at Melita.
Customers can still elect to receive printed bills at no extra charge, while also making use of MyMelita online self-care. Similarly customers who join this initiative can print a copy of the invoice in its traditional form via MyMelita at any point in time should they require.
