Gharb Council to hold the 6th edition of ‘Seher il-Punent’

The Gharb Local Gouncil has announced that following on from the success of previous years, it will once again be organising the popular family festival ‘Seher il-Punent.’ This year will be the sixth edition of the festival and it will take place between the 27th and 29th of April, 2012.
There will be many different events taking place throughout the three days of the festival, appealing to all ages and these include among others:-
A Traditional Dinner at the main square of Gharb including folk entertainment,
Singing and Dancing with the participtation of Local Talent,
70’s, 80’s, 90’s flashback wind band,
Participation of foreign groups twinned with the Council who are being invited for the occasion.

There will also be the creation of the largest Gbejna, which this year, the Council said, will again exceed the 2011weight, which was 77kg, a record in itself, as the previous one had weighed in at 35kg.
A get together and exhibition for all motorcycle enthusiasts will be held at Pjazza Zjara tal-Madonna

Live concert by established Maltese Singers and Bands
Live Concert at the Gharb Church Basilica, being part of the Gaulitana Festival of Music – A Duo for a Celebration: Violin & Viola Recital 1 – Giambori Duo (UK/Canada)
Children’s areas with animators and games and many, many other activities.
The Council said tha its aim was and will always be, that of holding an activity for all the family during the winter months in order to attract more visitors to the Island of Gozo from which all the Island’s businesses will surely benefit.
