The Gozo SPCA would love to find a ‘forever’ home for Ivory

Ivory is a yellow female Labrador, about 18 months old and the Gozo SPCA Centre volunteers in Victoria said that she is a very beautiful dog, as you can see from her photograph.

The Gozo SPCA spokesperson said that, “she was abandoned in Victoria on carnival weekend, along with her Mum; they were cold wet and very frightened.

Gozo SPCA was full up, so a kind lady fostered them in her house with her own dogs. Sadly Mum had a very painful disease and had to be put to sleep. They were best friends and Ivory was very sad.

Her carer has taught her lots of things and now she has been spayed and micro chipped it is time to find her ‘forever’ home.

Ivory is a very good girl, clean and well behaved in the house and very friendly with other dogs and children. She is nervous of people until she gets to know them, but she does like to play ‘fetch’ and loves her walks and swimming.

Would you like to offer Ivory a loving home? She needs gentle care and would love the company of another dog and respectful children. Once you have her trust she will be your devoted friend for ever.”

If there is anybody who thinks that they can help with a home for Ivoryor indeed any of the other animals at the Gozo SPCA centre, then please email Betty Berry on info@spca-gozo.org. You can also contact them on 21553769 and 99475199 or visit their website at: http://www.spca-gozo.org/.

Ivory is now called Ivy and is happily settled with her new family, which includes another Lab, in Malta. They all “love her to bits” and are so pleased with how quickly she settled. What a long way she has come, thanks to all the love and care she was given in her foster home. All rescue dogs benefit so much from being fostered in a home, which is so much better than being in a kennel at the Rehoming Centre.
