Tal-Massar Winery has been awarded the bronze medal for its white wine Tanit, produced from Gozitan Vermentino grapes at the 36th edition of the internationally acclaimed wine competition of Challenge International du Vin in France. The Challenge International du Vin is one of the largest French international wine competitions and one of the most famous wine events in the world.

Tanit was distinguished from roughly 4,700 samples and from over 30 countries. This Gozitan Vermentino wine was assessed by a subtle blend of amateur and professional tasters representative of consumer tastes.

Anthony Hili said that it was one of his foreign clients that encouraged him to participate in the Challenge International du Vin, after being impressed with the high quality of the wine.

Tal-Massar Winery regularly holds wine tasting tours in their vineyards at the picturesque village of Gharb and their clients are mostly foreigners who are in search of high quality boutique wines.

The owner and his wife said that their winery is attracting high end tourists to the island of Gozo and social media is playing a major role in the marketing of their four wines.

Although the enterprise is family run, the owners said that they wanted to make sure that their product is a professional one and have thus made use of the services of the acclaimed oenologist Mr.Roger Aquilina. They said that this award goes well with their mission statement : we might be the smallest but we strive to be the best.
