The Gozo College of Chaplains, convened a meeting last week under the chairmanship of Bishop Mario Grech, during which they discussed the release of the preliminary report for a permanent link between Gozo and Malta.
A statement released following the meeting said that they “welcome the positive results that emerged in the preliminary report on the possibility of a permanent link between Gozo and Malta and confirmed themselves to be in favour of a study that could lead to achieving this goal.”
They also noted “that an agreement had been formed between political parties and groups for this study to go through to a second phase.”
They concluded by saying that they “believe that this project will continue to strengthen and help to develop the cultural, social, economic and religious aspects of the island.”
I am a little concerned with this project the people i talk to seem very against the idea,who will pay and when you see the poor state of the roads in Gozo, why even the think about a project which is to bigger step to take.all this will do is put people out of work long term.I hope people will agree there are far many basic things wrong in Malta which should be addressed first!!
@ Martin Don`t worry this is just a pre election promise similar to Smart City .
As you can see even Gozo College of Chaplains are waiting for a serious study
.Remember those 5 thousand jobs promised ?? And now very few, much less than promised are working there.

First thing that the Bishop of Gozo should strengthen is that catastrophe project the Nadur church is constructing on the way to Ramla beach.
Since when the bishop also gets involved with these kinds of projects !!! This is something to do with politicians !!!
I suggest the bishop to work on keeping the peace rather then waste time with political projects !!!
