A female diver died today after suffering a cardiac arrest whilst at ix-Xatt l-Ahmar, near Ghajnsielem.
Friends of the 39-year old Swedish woman who were with her, gave her first aid at the scene. She was then taken by an AFM helicopter to the Gozo General Hospital, where she was certified as dead.
This is a truly tragic event. I cannot speak highly enough of the group of German guys (doctors) who worked relentlessly to try and save the lady.
