Aberdeen University students visit Santa Lucija, Kercem

A group of six students from the University of Aberdeen recently visited the village area of Kercem and Santa Lucija as part of the EDEN programme, highlighting initatives related to rural life, agriculture and the environment of the island.
The students were welcomed at Santa Lucija Square by the Alfred Stellini, Chairman of the Santa Lucija Administrative Committee. They were given a tour of the village, as well as projects that are currently being carried out, such as the restoration and building of rubble walls. The students were also able to visit several green houses owned by local farmers as well as a site where tomatoes are grown, farms with livestock and at the end of the tour they were offered various local produce.
The last stop on their visit to the area was a reception and meeting with Mayor Mario Azzopardi. The Kercem Local Council said that it would like to thank all those who assisted during the students visit.
