A 61 year-old German man has died this morning at Xwejni, after he got into difficulties whilst participating in free-diving, which entails diving without the usual cylinders.
First aid was given by members of Civil Protection, but despite their efforts to save him, the man sadly died at the scene.
A full investigation is now underway at the scene of this tragedy.
