The Gozo University Group (GUG) has said in a statement that it welcomes the news of the improved service for the route X1 that operates to the Gozo Ferries and the route 301.

GUG states that the X1 route should reflect the needs of the Gozitan commuters as it was discussed within the Social Affairs Committee within the House of Parliament together with Transport Malta. GUG hopes that these changes will in reality reflecting the needs of the Gozitan commuters. The routes will still continued to be monitored by GUG to ensure the best for the Gozitan Society.

GUG said it still believes that an exclusive route for Cirkewwa to Mater Dei/University should be included in the service.
