The Social Security Department said this morning that the majority of applications that had been received for the Child Allowance for the period July 7 2012 – July 5 2013 have been processed and deposits for the first thirteen weeks will be deposited in the beneficiaries’ accounts on Saturday, July the 7th.

The Department said that those applications that have not yet been processed are either due to to late applications or those which lacked required information that is necessary for the Department to establish the correct rate payable.

A forward payment of 13 weeks will therefore be made at the minimum rate of €6.73 per week, per child. When those applications have been processed, with the allowance rate calculated, the families will be paid the difference. These families will be advised by letter regarding the provisional payment.
